Tuesday's Launch Night

For those of you that couldn't make it, here is a photo of the three projects we made on Tuesday. We made a desk calendar/card. A Christmas card using one of the new Sweet Treat Cups, and decorated a white carry bag with Real Red circles (baubles)cut using the new Circle Scissors. Then they were embossed in white using the Baroque Motif Stamp set.
I think everyone was pleased with what they made. I've had a comment that one lady thought it was really good because all of the projects were simple and easy to do, but everything looked really good.

Here is a side view of the desk calendar/card.

I used Baja Breeze, (again) Choc chip and Sahara Sand card stock. Plus some Baja Breeze Patterned Paper for the butterflies. They are made with the NEW Butterfly punch in the new Summer Mini Catalogue, I have been sticking butterflies on everything. I love it!!

Thanks for looking.

New Punch Stand

I saw a picture on the net of this great punch stand, so I asked my Dad if he could make me one. Looking at the picture of the stand on it's own you don't realise how big it is! It's a cube that swivels around, and holds 32 large punches, plus quite a few small ones too. When he had finished it I was shocked at the size. I wasn't even sure it would fit into my little car, especially as we had tons of luggage in there too! Anyway we got it home and Cliff painted it for me. So on Sunday I was ready to load up all the punches. Doing this made me clean and tidy my craft area, and it is looking so much better. I've even taken a photo. Mind you, since this photo was taken it has got a little bit messier, I've been getting things ready for tonight's Summer Mini Catalogue Launch.

Thanks Dad & Cliff for making my punch stand. X X

1st December Stamp a Stack

Here are the two cards we will be making next Tuesday. We will make five of each design. With being away and trying to organise the SAS since returning home, I was looking for simple easy cards and think that these two fit the bill. The only stamping on the Baubles card is the sentiment and I used the scallop edge punch for the trim at the top. The second card Is Real Red and Very Vanilla cardstock and the tree is made with three 'Full Heart' punched hearts in Garden Green. The background on the real red is the Jumbo Wheel 'So Swirly' with real red ink. This will be the final Stamp a Stack for this year, so thank you to everyone who has been coming along. I hope that you have enjoyed coming as much as I have enjoyed having you here. Hope to see you back again in the new year!

Four ladies who have be very regular attendees at my classes are Jo, Kathy, Mary B. and Trish. These girls have attended ten or more classes this year, and will be receiving a voucher for a free class to the value of $20.

Take Care,
Best Wishes To You All.

I'll Be Back in a Couple of Weeks

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been updating the blog. We are away for a little while. Cliff had surgery on 27th October and we have to stay in Perth for a couple of weeks until he gets the all clear from the doctor. He seems to be getting a bit better each day, but is still getting quite tired and needs a bit of a rest each afternoon. He's certainly a lot better when they brought him back to his room after the surgery, there were tubes and drips and drains all over the place. Made me feel a bit queasy, I could never be a nurse!!!

So that's the reason I haven't added any new photos or sent out any emails. Fortunately where we are staying I have access to the internet, but it isn't as easy as when you are on your own computer and have your address book and everything on hand. I will wait to do all that sort of stuff once I get home.

Only the rest of this month left to get anything you want from the Spring Mini Catalogue. If there is anything you need please send me an email and I can organise to order it for you.

Catch you all soon.

Best wishes to everyone,

Janice

Happy Anniversary

Friends of ours are celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary today. Congratulations Veronica and Peter. This is the card I made for them, I hope that they like it. I was very happy with it. I ended up making several of this same style. It's called a 'Side Step' card. This one is made using Petal Pizzaz stamps and the card stock and inks are from the Earth Elements family.

When I first made the tri shutter card I thought I should try to make a card similar to that but with the fold going up and down rather than side to side. Then I came across the side step card on Marelle Taylor's blog. So Thank you Marelle.

I made a masculine version too. Here I've used the Seaworthy Stamp set and used the baby wipe technique. The card stock is Taken with Teal, Whisper White and Tempting Turquoise.

Some of the cards I have been making

These cards using the Stampin' Up! set Fifth Ave Floral are done using the watercolouring technique that has been all over lots of blogs recently. I thought they looked lovely so had to give it a try. It is a very simple technique, and I think that the results are great. It looks like you have been very artistic when actually it's just a squirt of water and a few dabs with reinkers, on top of white embossed outline images.

The Flowerpot card is another that has been seen around on stamping blogs from the USA. In this card I have combined that design with the watercolour technique.

October Technique of the Month Class

This afternoon I've been making an exploding box and stamping on a candle. It's a gift set we will be making at the next Technique class. I have to say I am really pleased with the results. I used Whisper White, Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy card stock and inks. Most of the stamps are from the Season of Joy stamp set and a couple of sentiments from Snow Swirled. Hope you like it.

October Stamp a Stack

I tried to upload a couple of photos yesterday and didn't have any luck, so I'm trying again. Fingers crossed that it works today. Well it's taking awhile but hopefully it's working. These two photos are the cards we are making at the SAS on Tuesday. I decided to make all ten cards Christmas cards this time. I don't think we will end up having a SAS next month, so this way everyone who is trying to build up a stash of cards for Christmas wont miss out. I really like the five cards using the patterned paper. I used the Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Hope you have all had a good weekend.

Cheerio for now,

Janice

Last weeks stamp club

We held our monthly stamp club night last Tuesday. It's usually on a Thursday but several people had other commitments so we changed it. It was another really great night. (Sorry you missed it Jo, we missed you!). I always enjoy getting together with the girls and we have lots of fun. This week we made a card that looks like a handbag and when you open it up there's a spot for a gift voucher or some money. Of course you don't have to put that section in if you aren't giving money or a voucher. We used the Patterned Paper, Raspberry Tart, Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon and a corduroy button. The stamp sets used were Great Friend and Petal Pizzazz.

Inside:

Outside:

Well, lots to do. I have to finish cutting up the card for next weeks stamp a stack, plus work out what we are doing at a workshop I am having next week. So I had better stop looking at cards on the internet and start making some. Have a good weekend everybody.

See you next time,

Janice

Some Christmas Cards & SAS cards

These are some of the cards we will be making at the next Stamp a Stack. The class is already fully booked but I thought those of you who aren't coming may like to have a look at what we will be doing. We will be making five Christmas cards and the other five small cards with matching envelopes. For those cards we are using the patterned paper from the level 1 hostess reward pack. The colours are Basic Gray, Brocade Blue, Apricot Appeal, Garden Green and Regal Rose. We will be using the Pocket Silhoutte Stamp set. The Christmas cards we are using the new stamp set from the Spring Mini Catalogue, Tree Trimmings.

This weekend I have been fiddeling around making some simple Christmas cards and I think that they could end up being a part of the October Stamp a Stack selection. See what you think.

Another Wallet

What dreadful weather we are having this weekend! You don't need three guesses to know what I've been doing. But firstly I wanted to show you another of the wallets I made. This time I did it in red and used one of my Cuttlebug folders to give it a different look. This one would be good to give to a female rather than the brown masculine one I showed you last time. I used half a velcro dot to fasten it and a large gold brad for decoration. I thought it turned out really well. What do you reckon?

August Stamp Club

On Thursday we had our monthly Stamp Club get together and what a great night it was. We made Father's Day Wallets, perfect for giving Dad some cash or a gift voucher. I didn't have any gift cards so just put a couple of the cards in my purse in to give you the idea! I got the design from a website called "Dannie's Designs" there is a great tutorial video and it's really quite easy to make.

This month's hostess had a really great workshop, She had collected some outside orders, had a big order herself and then all the other club members order up big too!! So she ended up with a couple of Free hostess stamp sets and over $200 worth of Free products!!

Of course if you are in a stamp club you don't have to order up big, you just commit to spending $50 a month for six months, it's a great way to gradually get the things you have on your Wish List. We get together at my place once a month to place the orders and usually make a project. It's always a fun night. If this sounds like something you would be interested in let me know and I can put your name down for when I spot opens up or if there is enough interest we can start a new group.

Sept Classes & New Mini Catalogue!!!

Here is a picture of the cards we will be making at the September Technique of the Month classes. These classes will be held on Tuesday 1st September and Wednesday 2nd September. If you are interested in coming along please contact me. The colours used during the classes may vary. Below I have used Taken with Teal, Night of Navy and Whisper White on the first card, and Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Whisper White on the second card. The patterned paper is Urban Garden and the gorgeous larger butterfly is from one of the new stamp sets in the Spring Mini Catalogue "Great Friends". I really love this card (the butterfly one).

Oh, that's right, I forgot to tell you about the new Mini Catalogue that is just out. I haven't made any samples with my new sets yet, sorry! As soon as I do you will be the first to know. In the mean time if you would like to have a look at the mini go to the Stampin' Up! web site (click on the link to the right) and check it out. Or if you would like a copy contact me. If there is anything you would like to order please get in touch either by phone or email.

Til next time happy stamping!

I'm Back!

Above are the cards we made at last weeks Stamp a Stack. Ten cards in a couple of hours can get rather hectic, but we usually have a lot of fun! From now until December each S A S we will be making at least 5 Christmas cards, so it's a great way to build up a stash ready for sending out when the time comes.

Did you wonder where I had got to?

Sorry for the long break between posts, we have been away on a holiday. Since I got back I have been busy with classes and just generally catching up on things.

The holiday was good, we went on a 16 night cruise to several Asian countries. It was lovely to have some nice warm weather, though the weather hasn't been too bad since we got home.

After the cruise we stayed in Perth for four days to celebrate my Dad's 80th Birthday. It was lovely to get together with most of the family.

Friday, June 5, 2009

This is one of the cards I made while experimenting with the Babywipe technique for my next class. We aren't making this exact card but two others using the same technique. I used the Seaworthy stamp set and the colours are Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and White Gloss cardstock.

June & July Special

If you host a workshop during June or July, with sales of $600 or more (not including postage). Stampin' Up! will give you $110 worth of FREE products plus the choice of a level one or level two hostess set. This is $40 more than the usual hostess benefits.

So if you have been thinking about holding a workshop, now would be a great time to do it. Contact me if you would like to organise a date.

Here as promised is the photo of the cards from the Stamp a Stack held last Tuesday. Five of the cards were made using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set and the other five were made using Designer Series Paper. For the tree cards we used an oval template to sponge ink onto the card and then stamped the trees inside the oval. These are my sample cards, but you always get lots of variations at these nights. People come up with some really great ways to make the cards using the same pieces, but end up with them looking completely different.

Friday, May 22, 2009

The photo above is the two cards we made at last weeks class. It ended up being a smaller group than usual, but we had a great night and the girls who were there really enjoyed the technique. They were surprised how simple it was to do and were really proud of the cards they made.

At our last Stamp Club night we made these cute and really easy to make Pull Treat Pouches, pictured at the top of this post. They would be great for a small gift like chocolate or a voucher. You just make them to measure whatever you want to put in them. We used DSP so that made it even quicker and easier, but they could be made using card stock which you could stamp and decorate however you want. I've been looking for ways to use up some of my DSP collection. I keep buying it but very rarely use it. It's always so nice, I hate to cut it up! Because Stampin' Up! have a special offer this month on the patterned papers (so naturally I have ordered some more), I have to stop hoarding it. I've also decided to use some on the cards for my next 'Stamp A Stack' too. I'll post a photo of them soon.

Happy Mother's Day everyone. I hope there is a lot of pampering going on out there! At the top of this post is a picture of the lovely flowers I got from my daughters. Thank You girls X X X X

As I mentioned I would yesterday, I made another Card Organiser last night. Black and White with a touch of Gray, using Baroque Motifs. I am happy with the result, I think is looks simple but elegant.

It was announced last weekend at the annual Stampin' Up! Convention, that Baroque Motifs was their biggest selling stamp set last year.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Saturday, May 9, 2009

I finally got around to making a card organiser. I bought my Bind it All especially to make these but have been procrastinating about doing it for quite a while now. Anyway I have finished this last night and I am pleased with it.

I really love these colours - Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze on Whisper White, they look so fresh. The Stamp Set is Petal Pizzazz.

In case anyone out there isn't sure what you do with a Card Organiser, you store your cards in the pockets on each page (one for each month). When you have made a card and you think, that would be great for "so and so", if their birthday, anniversary or whatever is in May you would place the card in the pocket on the page for May and there it is ready for you when the time comes to send the card!

I think lots of people will be getting these as presents! I'm thinking of holding some classes to make these too. So if you are interested keep watching for more on that. I am off to make another one, I am picturing Black and white (maybe a touch of gray)using Baroque Motifs! Then maybe one using DSP instead of stamping.

Thinking about Designer Series Papers, that is the SPECIAL OFFER this month from Stampin' Up! BUY THREE PACKS OF DSP FOR $16.95 EACH AND GET ANOTHER PACK FREE! Contact me if you would like to take advantage of this offer, or if there is anything else you would like to order.

I really have been busy! I made six card fronts for a swap I was involved in. Had to organise three lots of ribbons for ribbon shares and got six new sets of stamps, so they all needed to be put together. Then of course I had to spend some time making samples with the new sets. It's a hard life! My next class is tomorrow night, thank goodness for my dear friend Trish she came and helped me with the ribbons when they needed cutting and sorting out, and she was here again on the weekend helping me prepare for the class. There was quite a bit of cutting to do. I have nine people coming and they are each making ten cards.

Here are some of the sample cards I made with my new stamp sets, I hope you like them. There are so many sets that I really love in the new Idea Book and Catalogue
These use the sets Upsy Daisy, Inspired By Nature and Fifth Avenue Floral.

This has been such a busy week. I've had two launch nights and a stamp club meeting, so I am glad to have a break over the Easter long weekend. Happy Easter everyone. I made these gifts for the girls in my stamp club. It was our final meeting on Thursday so I wanted to give them a small gift to let them know how much I appreciate them. The mugs were purchased from Target and I thought they were great colours an almost perfect match for Stampin' Up's Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point! I used the now retired Hidden Garden rub-ons to decorate them. I think the ladies liked them.

New In Colors

Couldn't wait to share with you one of the boxes I made today using the new 2009 -2010 Stampin' Up! In Colors. The colors are bright and gorgeous I am really excited about using them and was so please with how this box turned out. I hope you like it too.

New Catalogue Starts Tuesday!

For the first time this year Stampin' Up Demonstrators were allowed to pre order some of the new stamp sets and the New In Color card stock and inks. So I have three of the new sets and have been playing with them and preparing for my catalogue launch night on Tuesday 7th April.

Meanwhile the old catalogue is still here and the Summer mini catalogue is still current. If there is anything on the retired list or in the mini catalogue NOW is the time to order it before they are gone forever.

Order you very own copy of the new Ideas Book & Catalogue during March and pay only $10. Come to my Launch night and the Catalogue is included in the price.
