Classes

The January Technique of the Month Class has proven very popular and I am doing this class on a couple of different dates:
Tuesday 19th January FULLY BOOKED
Thursday 21st January 7pm (there are a couple of spots left if you are interested)

The next class after that will be a Stamp a Stack on Tuesday 2nd February Below are the pictures of the cards we will be making. We usually make ten cards, that's two designs five of each design. As you can see I like to vary the cards a little so that you have a good mixture of cards to take home at the end of the class. They are really just two basic designs but using the same pieces in different ways. I hope you like them. If you are interested in this class please email or call me soon. The cost is $20 which includes a light supper, everything to make the cards including inserts and envelopes (bring your own adhesives - Snail or double sided tape and Dimensionals) If need be, I can order some for you, or Pay $25.00 for the class and use mine.

Other dates to remember for February are Thursday 11th at 7.30pm is our next Stamp Club meeting. That's members only, but if you are interested in joining a Stamp Club get in touch with me. How the Stamp Club works is: there are at least six members and we get together once a month at my place, for six months. Each month members place an order for $50 worth of products and one month during the period each member gets a turn at being the hostess. ie gets the Free hostess stamp set and Free $30 or more, worth of Stampin' Up! goods, without any of the hassel of organising a workshop at your place. It's a great way to get all those things on your wish list too.

Also:
February Technique of the Month Class, Tuesday 16th February at 7pm. Technique to be advised.

Today I made this card for a friend who is celebrating his 60th birthday soon. I'm pretty sure he wont be looking at my blog, so I figure it's safe to publish it here without spoiling the surprise.

The fishing rod and the bucket stamps aren't Stampin' Up! The rest is though. The card stock is Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Creamy Caramel. I've used the retired jumbo wheel Rough Texture for the background, the spiral punch to decorate the edge of the black card and the 'build a brad' in the bottom corner is a great way to personalise a card. I decorated the envelope too, another none Stampin' Up! stamp, I don't use them much nowadays, but I don't have a lot of masculine type stamps.

Tomorrow I will take a photo of the cards for my February Stamp a Stack, and put it on here. So pop back and check it out soon.

Happy New Year!

Wow it's been almost a month since I last posted on here. Time flys!!! I hope that you all had a great Christmas and that 2010 will be a wonderful year. We had a quiet Christmas, I had my parents here for ten days, but we didn't really get up to anything. Sat around quite a bit and ate quite a bit too! I'll bet you can guess what my new years resolution is.

Before Christmas was a bit hectic with the end of the school year and getting organised for Christmas. I was asked to make a couple of wedding cards for someone so I made these two cards. The lady I did them for was very pleased, so that was good.

I've been doing a few of the side step cards recently and it was one of these that I won the Esperance Express Christmas Card competition with. I won the open section and got a lovely Carl paper cutter. Thanks to the Express for running the competition. Congratulations to the other winners too.

Speaking of Side Step Cards that is going to be my first class for 2010. On Tuesday 19th January at 7pm, I will be holding a Technique of the Month Class. If anyone is interested please contact me as soon as possible to book your place. We will make these two cards.

I'm working on the designs for the next stamp a stack (ten cards)class at the moment so watch this space or your emails for more news on that. That will be on Tuesday 2nd of February.

Other exciting news from Stampin' Up! is that coming later this month we have 'Sale a Bration'. For those of you not familiar with this, each year, usually for two months, there is a special promotion. Four specially designed stamp sets are offered FREE. To qualify for a FREE stamp set you need to spend $100 on Stampin' Up! products (not including postage) or host a workshop which reaches $600 in sales. So for every $100 you spend you can choose a FREE set, ie if you spend $200 you choose two sets!! 'Sale a Bration' starts on January 25th and runs until March 31st 2010.

Don't forget about the Stock clearance sale that is still available. Check the Stampin' Up! website to see details of the Sale a Bration Stamp sets or the stock clearance sale items. Call me if you need any further details.

Well I suppose I should go and do something. Make the bed, wash the dishes, hang out the washing, that sort of thing!!! I'm off to the movies this afternoon, (third time within a week!!). Aren't holidays great :) I'm off to see Avatar this afternoon, I've never been to a 3D movie before.

Take care.

Janice
